
Madhya Pradesh's premier examination for state civil services
The MPPSC State Services Examination is conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission to recruit officers for Group A and Group B posts in the Madhya Pradesh state government, including Deputy Collector, DSP, and other administrative positions.
The Prelims is an objective-type screening test with two papers of 200 marks each. There is no negative marking. Only Paper I marks determine the cut-off; Paper II (General Aptitude Test) is qualifying.
The Mains examination is descriptive with 6 papers – General Studies I–IV, General Hindi, and Essay. All papers count toward merit. GS papers carry 300 marks each (except GS IV at 200), Hindi is 200 marks, and Essay is 100 marks.
The interview assesses the candidate's personality, general awareness, and suitability for administrative roles in the Madhya Pradesh state government.
