The HPSC HCS (Executive Branch) Examination is conducted by the Haryana Public Service Commission to recruit officers for the Haryana Civil Service (Executive Branch) and other allied state services, including posts like Naib Tehsildar, Employment Officer, and other Group A and B positions.
The Prelims is an objective-type screening test with two papers of 100 marks each. Paper II (CSAT) is qualifying with a 33% threshold. There is 1/4th negative marking for wrong answers.
The Mains examination is descriptive with 4 papers – English (100 marks), Hindi (100 marks), General Studies (200 marks), and one Optional Subject (200 marks). All papers count toward merit.
The interview or Viva-Voce assesses the candidate's personality, communication skills, and suitability for administrative roles in the Haryana state government.
